You’ve Got Options with Howard MBA Programs

At the Howard University School of Business, there are two programs to choose from when you are ready to earn your MBA: a traditional MBA designed for students with educational background in business who are getting ready to enter the professional field, and the Executive MBA, designed for students who are already working full-time and are looking to take their corporate careers to new heights.

Students applying to MBA programs usually get in based on their academic records. Universities consider a student’s undergraduate degree, coursework, and GPA, along with their GMAT scores when reading over applications. Admission for an EMBA program is usually based more on work experience and what the student can bring to the program. Howard University does not require GMAT scores for Executive MBA candidates, as most of the admission decision is based on the student’s resume, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.

Howard University’s MBA degrees features a more traditional schedule designed for full-time students  focused is earning the degree, while the EMBA program is designed with a schedule that allows working professionals to complete classes on their own time, usually on weekends. Howard also features an online EMBA program that allows students to complete coursework online to avoid the expense and hassle of traveling to classes. If you have at least seven years of work experience in business, Howard University’s online EMBA program can be a great way to further your career.

The decision of whether to go the route of an EMBA or MBA is an important one, but because of the differences between the programs, prospective MBAs should not have much trouble picking the one that is right for them. Ultimately, whichever you choose, an EMBA or MBA, you will still end up with a quality degree from Howard University.
