Quinlan Announces Date for Schreiber Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

According to a press release, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the John and Kathy Schreiber Center, the new home of Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business, will be taking place next week. Hosted by John P. Pelissero, Interim President, Loyola University Chicago, and Kevin Stevens, Dean, Quinlan School of Business, the event will be taking place at 16 E. Pearson Street on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 10:45AM to 11AM.

We wrote about the new center in brief in a recent Metro MBA post. According to the school, “The Center features some of the latest thinking in business education and sustainability, and connects Loyola with Chicago’s business, nonprofit, and government leaders.”

The Schreiber Center is located less than a mile from Chicago’s Loop and two blocks from the Magnificent Mile. The building’s a central, 10-story atrium is its most prominent feature: It will serve as a networking point on each floor and allowing air and light into the building’s core. The atrium brings to life the building’s primary design philosophies of community, connectivity, and transparency. The building is also sustainable and is pursuing a Silver LEED certification for its innovative design.

The construction of the Center was made possible by a sponsoring gift made to Loyola by John, a Quinlan graduate, and Kathy Schreiber. The gift is dedicated to F. Virgil Boyd and Raymond C. Baumhart, S.J, both of whom provided inspiration and guidance to Mr. Schreiber and enhanced both his business education and career after Loyola.
