Director of Babson’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Awarded

The executive director of Babson College‘s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership was one of the top winners at the annual Stevie​​​​​​​​​​ Awards for Women in Business​, according to a press release from the school.

Susan G. Duffy was one of the Gold winners in the “Women Helping Women” category, which recognizes “the achievements of women who provided support and assistance to women in their communities,” according to the awards website.

Duffy and the other honorees were recognized at an awards dinner in New York. The event was the 12^th annual presentation of the Stevie Awards, which celebrate the business achievements of women worldwide.

“I am honored to be a Stevie​​​​​​​​​ Gold Winner, especially for the ‘Women Helping Women’ category because it recognizes the significant accomplishments we’ve been able to achieve in undergraduate, graduate, and executive education, and in gender research and thought leadership around the world,” Duffy said in the school’s press release.

The center’s recent accomplishments include partnering with Breakaway, a brand capital firm, to launch the Babson Breakaway Challenge. The goals of the Challenge are to boost women who are entrepreneurs and those who are aspiring venture capitalists. The entrepreneur finalists and venture capital apprentice candidates will be announced in January, with the entrepreneurship winner being chosen in March.

The Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership is a key part of the entrepreneurial culture that Babson is known for. The college was ranked No. 1 for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs and No. 2 for graduate programs recently by The Princeton Review. The center also sponsors the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Women’s Report.
