Gabelli School MBA Students Visit Companies

Fordham University-Gabelli School of Business kicked off the new year with Immersion Week for students in the Full-Time Cohort MBA Program.

Now in its second year, Immersion Week is “a series of corporate site visits and workshops designed to intensify students’ connection to the city where they study during their time at Fordham,” according to a press release from the Gabelli School.

The first-year MBA students visited companies including Citibank, Bloomberg LP, Money.Net, BBDO and NYC Bike Share.

At Bike Share, students learned about startup strategies, resource allocation, expansion, marketing and more.

“It highlighted the diversity of industry and professional opportunity that exists in New York for any MBA student,” Damien Forde, MBA ’17, said of Immersion Week.

Redesigned in 2014, the Gabelli School’s Full-Time Cohort MBA Program takes two years to complete. Students can focus their studies by choosing a major, a double major or a major and a minor from topics including Accounting, Communication and Media Management, Finance, Information Systems, Management and Marketing.

In addition to Immersion Week, MBA students have many other opportunities to build their professional network while at the Gabelli School. The Professional Development Center hosts corporate speakers and networking events. Additionally, the MBA Consulting Program connects teams of students to work with companies and organizations on business problems.

About 55 percent of applicants to the Gabelli School’s Full-Time Cohort MBA Program are admitted. Feb. 1 is the Round 2 application deadline for the program, with the Round 3 deadline on May 1. The next information session about the Gabelli School’s graduate programs is Feb. 18.
