Lehigh University One Year MBA Program Structure
The Lehigh University One Year MBA program is a full-time cohort program designed for professionals. This on-campus program features a rigorous curriculum that emphasizes functional areas of business as well as more theoretical understanding of the modern business world.
Prior to arriving on campus, each student in this program is assigned a coaching team consisting of a One Year MBA program faculty member, a Lehigh alumnus and a dedicated career services staff member. These team members serve as mentors to the students, assisting in finding internships and full-time jobs.
Most classes are offered during daytime hours, though some electives are offered in evenings. Required corporate visits may span day and evening.
Students enrolled in the Lehigh University One Year MBA program must complete 50 credits. This includes a two-week pre-program session that earns 5 credits, seven weeks of functional area core classes for 7.5 credits, a seven-week stakeholder perspectives session for 7.5 credits and a four-week session entitled “Integrating Societal Shifts” worth 12 credits. Also required is an 8-week internship that earns 3 credits. During the fall semester, students take 15 credits of elective classes, as well. The first One Year MBA program will run from January to December 2017.
As a brand-new program, demographic details are unavailable as of yet. The One Year program enrollment may be similar to Lehigh’s Flex MBA student population, which is approximately two-thirds male and one-third female. In 2013, international students comprised 6% of Lehigh’s Flex MBA enrollees.
Lehigh University’s Career Services office offers job and internship counseling, résumé writing workshops and interview preparation. One Year MBA students are assigned a dedicated member of the Career Services team to assist with internship and job placement. The office also hosts a career fair in September.
Tuition & Financial Aid
Tuition for the Lehigh One Year MBA program is $63,000, which is billed over two semesters. International students must submit a copy of a financial guarantee demonstrating the ability to pay $79,370, which includes health insurance and living expenses in addition to tuition.
Students accepted to the program may apply for a Dean’s Scholarship, which includes full tuition plus a $10,000 stipend. Additionally, Director’s Scholarships are merit-based, partial-tuition scholarships.
Lehigh University also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which offers tuition benefits to veterans.
While an undergraduate degree is not required for admission to the One Year MBA program, a minimum of three years of professional work experience is required.
Students wishing to enroll in the One Year MBA program must submit an application with an application fee of $100. Also required are an essay, a résumé, GMAT or GRE scores, transcripts from universities attended and two letters of recommendation. Applicants must also participate in an admissions interview.
An applicant’s GMAT score for this program is expected to be greater than 650. The only exception to the GMAT requirement is for those who hold a doctoral degree.
In addition to the above, international students must also provide TOEFL scores (IELTS is not accepted for this program) and financial guarantee information.
The application deadline is September 15.
