Texas Christian Accelerated MBA Program Structure

The Texas Christian University Accelerated MBA program at the Neeley School of Business is a 12-month, full-time program that is designed for individuals with a high undergraduate GPA in a business-oriented major, a high GMAT score, and at least three years of professional business experience. The accelerated MBA program is designed to build on the professional and academic experiences of the students. Summer courses are offered online with several in-person sessions held on Saturdays.

Curriculum

The Texas Christian Accelerated MBA curriculum is comprised of 22.5 credits of electives and 12.5 credit hours of core classes, for a total of 36 credit hours to complete the program. The MBA core courses are individually selected for each student based on their professional and academic background in cooperation with the Director of Graduate Programs Administration.

Students can select electives to focus their MBA program in finance, supply chain, marketing or management, or on industries such as energy, healthcare, real estate, entrepreneurship, or consulting.

Class Profile

Students in the Accelerated MBA program at Neeley come from a business academic background and have at least three years of work or military experience. Students have an average of five years of professional business experience. Students in the MBA program at Neeley have an average GMAT score of 627. Students are an average age of 27. Twenty-one percent of the full-time MBA class is female. Twenty-six percent of students in the full-time MBA program completed their undergraduate degrees at Texas Universities other than TCU.

Careers

The Texas Christian Accelerated MBA program is designed for current business field professionals who are interested in moving into managerial or supervisory roles or moving into a new, closely related career field.

Accelerated MBA students also have access to The Neeley Professional Development Center and the Graduate Career Services Center. The Professional Development Center provides Neeley students with support and training in the areas of presentations, business writing and career preparation. The Graduate Career Services Center provides students with resume help, job search, networking events, career coaching, interview prep and skill building programs.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The total estimated cost of the Accelerated MBA program is $72,360. The actual total cost of expenses for the program will depend on the number of credit hours taken each year. Books and materials are estimated at $2,200, and students will need to have a laptop computer. Neeley offers multiple scholarship and assistantship program options for students. Merit-based awards are available to qualified full-time MBA students from any country. About 85 percent of MBA students receive some form of merit-based scholarship. Award amounts can range from $5,000 up to the total cost of tuition plus a stipend. Student loans and grants are also available to students with demonstrated financial need.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the information provided in an individual’s admission application, with such factors as test scores, academic experience and work experience being taken into consideration.

Neeley also offers full tuition ROTC scholarships. The TCU Army ROTC provides two-year full tuition scholarships for students who are interested in serving in the National Guard or Reserves after completing the program. Prior military experience is not required for these awards.

The Neeley School also provides aid for military veterans. The school will waive the $100 application fee for all military personnel and will also give them priority consideration for the merit-based awards.

The school also welcomes outside scholarships, private and federal loans and other sources of private funding.

Admissions

Texas Christian Accelerated MBA students are required to have a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree or equivalent with a strong academic record, strong GMAT scores and a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional work or military experience.

In order to be considered for admission to the Neeley School, applicants must complete the online application form, submit the application essays (found online with the application form), provide official GMAT scores (GMAT scores are required for admission; GRE scores will be considered on an exceptional basis), upload a copy of all transcripts to the application form, provide a copy of their professional resume and provide contact information for three professional references.

After initial review of the application materials, students will be invited to complete an admissions interview. The interview is required for admission but not all applicants will be invited to complete an interview.

Application deadlines are as follows:

The early decision for admission deadline is October 15. This is also the scholarship priority deadline. The general admission and priority scholarship deadline is January 5. The general admission and extended scholarship deadline and the final deadline for international candidates requesting student visas is March 1. The extended admission and scholarship deadline is April 5. Any application submitted after April 5 will be considered only if space in the program is available.

Applications will only be reviewed for admission when the application form and all supporting documents are submitted to the admissions office.
