Johns Hopkins Flexible MBA Program Structure

The Johns Hopkins Flexible MBA at the Carey Business School is designed to be completed over three academic years, although students can take up to six years to complete their degree. Courses are offered in the evenings, Saturdays, and online allowing students to complete the program without interruption to their careers or excessive disruption to their personal or family lives.

There are two intakes of students per year, with classes starting in both the spring and fall semesters.

Curriculum

The Johns Hopkins Flexible MBA incorporates business foundations courses, followed by course work in one of twelve concentrations, including options in Financial Businesses, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, Marketing, Real Estate and Infrastructure, and Interdisciplinary Business. The MBA requires 54 credit hours of coursework, comprised of 30 credit hours of core curriculum and 24 elective credits. Carey also offers an online course options.

Class Profile

There are currently 143 students enrolled in the Johns Hopkins Flexible MBA. Around 45 percent of the students are female. Less than 1 percent of students come from outside of the United States. The average age of students enrolled in the MBA program is 34.

Careers

The Career Services office of the Carey Business School works closely with students from enrollment through graduation and beyond. It serves as the recruiting link between the school’s students and alumni, and the corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors, providing students and alumni with career management guidance, professional networking opportunities, and resources for advancement. Additionally, it assists students who seek experiential learning opportunities, internships, or full-time positions.

Tuition & Financial Aid

The tuition for the Johns Hopkins Flexible MBA program is $1,330 per credit. Johns Hopkins University also charges a matriculation fee of $250.

Endowed scholarships are offered to students based on scholastic merit and evidence of leadership. To apply for endowed scholarships, students must complete the Carey Business School Foundation Scholarship Application and submit it along with an essay.

Most student loans are based on either financial need or creditworthiness and are available only to US citizens and permanent residents. Carey Business students have access to such federal aid as the Federal Pell Grant Program, Federal Direct Loan Program, and Graduate PLUS loan program. Private loans may also be available.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the MBA programs must have completed a four-year degree or its equivalent for admission.

To apply to Johns Hopkins University, applicants must submit a completed application form with the $100 non-refundable application fee, official copies of transcripts from each institution attended, current résumé and two letters of recommendation (at least one professional).

The school also requires applicants to submit two personal essays and their official GMAT scores. International applicants must submit eligible TOEFL or IELTS scores with an application.
