Clark Atlanta Working Professional MBA Program Structure

The Clark Atlanta Working Professional MBA consists of 53.25 semester hours. The courses completed in the program are not transferable to the full-time MBA program, nor is previous graduate work transferable to the Working Professional MBA.


The Clark Atlanta Working Professional MBA curriculum is designed to prepare working professionals to further their careers in accounting, finance, marketing and information systems. The courses in this MBA program are between one and 2.3 credits each. They are not transferable to the full-time program and no previous graduate work can be transferred in. Students may decide to select either Finance or Marketing as a concentration.

Class Profile

The Working Professional MBA program admits around 30 students a year. Students have an average of seven years work experience.


There are many resources available to students looking for careers at Clark Atlanta University through the Atlanta University Center Consortium Career Planning and Placement Service (AUCC CPPS). The AUCC CPPS offers students career planning and placement resources, plans on-campus recruiting events and hosts a database of contact information for over 1400 corporate, government and educational partners. They also periodically host on-campus recruiting sessions and career fairs.

It should be noted that these services were designed for the full-time MBA students. Certain things, like the timing of events may not be convenient to working professionals.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Graduate students can expect to pay $887 per credit hour, with additional minimal fees. Incoming students, both new and transfer, must also pay a one-time $475 confirmation fee.

CAU offers a Sibling Discount to a biological or legally adopted sibling currently enrolled at Clark Atlanta University. Siblings will receive a 33.3 percent discount after submitting a copy of both birth certificates, parent’s federal tax return and a simple application.

Admissions Procedures

Enrollment in the Working Professional MBA program is only done during the fall semester. Students looking to apply are suggested to have two years of professional work experience and a previously earned undergraduate degree. Internships are also acceptable in the place of traditional work experience.

Applying students must submit: GMAT or TOEFL scores for international students, a one-time $40 application fee ($55 for international applicants), a resume, three essays, official transcripts and three letters of reference.
