Simmons College HealthCare MBA Program Structure

The Simmons College Health Care MBA is an online, 50-credit program that is designed to be completed in as short as 24 months

Curriculum

The 50-credit Simmons College Health Care MBA consists of eight separate terms. Within those terms, students will take six core MBA courses, 10 healthcare courses and complete two immersion credits.

Class Profile

All students in the Simmons College Health Care MBA program have had at least two years of work experience, most of which has been in a health care-related field. Those who enroll in the program are committed to working in health care long-term.

Simmons has more than 4,000 women and men graduate students. Three percent are international students and approximately 24% are African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American and multi-racial. Fifty-three countries and 36 states are represented. Compared to other programs, graduates students consistently score some of the highest pass rates on professional licensure exams.

Tuition & Financial Aid

For the 2017-18 academic year, tuition costs $1,400 per credit hour, totaling $70,000 for the entire 54-credit program. There is also a $150 activity fee per semester.

Simmons has a number of scholarship options available, including a newly announced full-tuition scholarship, the Excellency Award. Simmons College Health Care MBA applicants may specifically benefit from the new $20,000 Health Care Leaders Award, which is given to a student who has demonstrated success in health care. The Emerging Leaders Award and the Leadership Scholars Award, which both start at $30,000, are each awarded to two incoming students with demonstrated leadership potential. Additional awards include Dean’s Merit Awards, a Forte Fellowship, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs Scholarship, the City Year “Give a Year” Award, the Partnership Award, and Graduate Assistantships. Applications are automatically reviewed for scholarship consideration; no separate application is necessary.

Admissions Procedures

The Simmons College recommends applicants to have at least two years of full-time work experience.

Applicants must submit a completed application form, three essays, three letters of recommendation, official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate and study abroad courses, an official GMAT or GRE score report, a current resume and a $75 application fee ($45 if submitted before the first priority deadline). The Office of Admission recommends all applicants hold an interview. International applicants must submit an official TOEFL or IELTS score report, as well as an International Declaration and Certification of Finances (DCF) form and original bank statements.
