Fox School of Business Sponsors Mayors’ Innovation Summit

Along with the City of Philadelphia and the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Temple University’s Fox School of Business sponsored the 7th annual Mayors’ Innovation Summit in Philadelphia.   More than 30 mayors from cities across the United States, along with dozens of executives in the innovation, information and technology fields and numerous civic leaders came together at the Westin hotel in Philadelphia to discuss innovation in city government.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Philadelphia’s own Mayor Nutter, who is also president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.   Then, executives from Google, Comcast and other leading corporations shared insights into innovation could promote collaboration on the public-private as well public-public fronts.   Michelle Lee, CEO of Textizen, was a featured speaker in a panel on local innovation.  A Fox Executive MBA graduate and San Francisco Chief Information Officer, Marc Touitou, also spoke to gathered members about the value of collaboration to a city’s success.

Fox offers a concentration in Information Technology Management, which supports many of the themes that were covered at the summit. These included utilizing digital business models, applying data analytics to assess organizational performance and understand industries, and innovating and improving business operations with technology.
