Graziadio Faculty Awarded for Their Research

It’s great knowing that when working toward your MBA at Graziadio School of Business and Management, your teachers are among the best in the business. Graziadio professors Darren Good, Kevin Groves, Owen Hall, Dave McMahon and Abraham Park all were recently recognized for their work and academic research.

Dr. Darren Good and Dr. Abraham Park were the recipients of the 2013-2014 Julian Virtue Professorship Award, which supports faculty doing values-centered research that aligns with the mission of Pepperdine University and the Graziadio School.

Good, an assistant professor of applied behavioral science who has published numerous articles on various aspects of leadership development and individual adaptability, emotional intelligence, executive coaching and feedback delivery, was presented this honor for his research on mindfulness. Dr. Park, an assistant professor of finance, was recognized for his published research related to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and corporate real estate and the performance impact of corporate real estate ownership for franchise companies.

Dr. Kevin Groves, an assistant professor of organizational theory and management whose research investigates executive development and succession planning, managerial thinking styles, leader social/emotional intelligence, and organizational change, was awarded the Denney Chair Professorship. This award supports faculty research that is aligned with the mission of the Graziadio School.

Owen Hall, Jr. and Roger “Dave” McMahon were recognized with the Rothschild Applied Research Fellow Award, an honor awarded to professors with a record of outstanding scholarship who also demonstrates prestige, influence and rigor.

Hall, a professor of decision sciences, explored the development of web based learning nets for graduate management education, the application of artificial intelligent agents to search engine technology and integrated learning systems. McMahon, an associate of marketing, also shares the honor of being a previous Julian Virtue Professorship Award recipient. He is co-author of a cutting edge book in the field of HR logistics and has published material on the changing role of inventory specialists in logistics, as well as website adoption and website types by non-profit entities.
