Seven Industry Professionals Join Smeal’s Real Estate Advisory Board

Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business recently welcomed seven new members to its Real Estate Advisory Board at their November board meeting. The Real Estate Advisory Board assists Smeal’s Institute for Real Estate Studies and the Smeal real estate faculty in developing curriculum for the business school’s real estate program and providing industry exposure to students.

The new members of the board are Mark Hertz, the managing director of AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corporation; Charles Snell, the president of New England Design Associates; Jonathan Knipe, the general counsel and senior vice-president of Silverstein Properties, Inc.; Michael Croce, the vice president of business and development for Pat Croce & Company; Jeffrey Perrone, a tax partner in real estate at Deloitte Tax LLP; Carl Berquist, the executive vice president and chief financial officer at Marriott International, Inc; and Robert Fenza, the chief operating officer of Liberty Property Trust.

The Real Estate Advisory Board is supported by Penn State Smeal’s Real Estate Society, an organization for alumni and friends of Penn State Smeal who are involved in the real estate industry. Ultimately, the society aims to build connections between Smeal community members, and provide students and alumni with the opportunity to network and learn from each other. The society has branches in Philadelphia, New York City, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles, and its LinkedIn group has 1,080 members at last counting.
