Cal State. LA Ranked by Washington Monthly

Washington Monthly has ranked Cal State L.A. no. 7 in Masters Programs. This ranking was out of 671 universities for their contribution to the public good. This new ranking has moved the university up from no. 18 to no. 7.

This upward movement reflects the university’s focus on building student success, community engagement and a collaborative culture. Cal State. LA is also no. 4 on the list of public university master programs.

Washington Monthly is a bimonthly nonprofit magazine of United States politics and government that is based in Washington, D.C. The magazine started the blog College Guide in 2009. The College Guide blog consists of information, comments, rankings and advice about higher education institutions.

The annual college and university rankings began as a research report in 2005. It was introduced as an official set of rankings in the September 2006 issue. It is now listed in the College Guide blog.

The rankings for the masters program list are based on three broad categories. The categories include: Recruiting and graduating low-income students, producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs, and encouraging students to give something back to their country.

The MBA program at Cal. State Long Beach is taught through the College of Business and Economics. The College of Business and Economics is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The college is consistently highly ranked in numerous college lists including the US News & World Report Best Business Programs, The Diverse Top 100, and Washington Monthly College Rankings.
