Drucker Exec Ed Program App Deadline

The application deadline for the NEXTGEN 2015 program at the Getty Leadership Institute at the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management is Jan. 5, 2015. This is the first NEXTGEN program in two years. The NEXTGEN program is for museum leaders. The program will begin March 9, 2015.

NEXTGEN 2015 is a new blended-learning experience for the field’s emerging top talent. The 2015 Executive Education Program for the Next Generation of Museum Leaders is designed for mid-level managers with three to five years of museum management experience and extraordinary leadership potential as recognized by senior-level executives.

The program blends one-week of online learning and three days of residency in a collegial environment at Claremont Graduate University. The online portion of the program will run from March 9 to March 15, 2015. The residency portion of the program will run March 24 to March 28, 2015.

During the program, students participate in formal lectures, discussions, self-directed reading, leadership assessments and practicum assignments. The curriculum incorporates time for peer conversations, group study and private reflection. Students will examine their individual leadership styles, team dynamics, institutional needs and perspectives and the future of the museum field. Course modules focus on self-assessment, leadership development, strategy, negotiation and innovation.

In order to complete an application for the NEXTGEN 2015 program, applicants must complete the NEXTGEN 2015 application form. Applicants must also supply a copy of their current resume, a copy of their institution’s mission statement, copy of the institutions organizational chart with the applicant’s position highlighted and two letters of recommendation.

The application form can be found online. The application and the supporting documents must be emailed to the Getty Leadership Institute by the application deadline.
