This book is the first to critique all of the assumptions on which Market Capitalism is based in one volume and propose a unique new agenda.

Eve Poole teaches at Ashridge Business School. She has also worked for Deloitte Consulting in the financial services industry; and the Church Commissioners, who run a £6 billion portfolio. Her clients range from EY and Tesco to the Foreign Office and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and this breadth of experience makes her a popular commentator on leadership, ethics, and public life.

This is the first book in a series from Bloomsbury Publishing and Ashridge Business School. The series will focus on Ashridge’s expertise in Leadership, Strategy, Change, Sustainability, Executive Development, Coaching and Action Research, and other key topics across business and management. The books are aimed at international managers and executives and for use on degree and executive education programmes at business schools worldwide.

Several eminent voices in finance have offered praise to the book. Says Stefan Stern, a columnist for the Financial Times: “While many have called for an end to ‘business as usual’, Eve Poole actually explains what needs to change and how it could be done. This is a forensic and inspiring account.”
