REGISTER: Smith School’s 7th Social Enterprise Symposium

The Center for Social Value Creation at the Robert H. Smith School of Business will be presenting the 7th Social Enterprise Symposium (SES) on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is held at the Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland and in conjunction with the three-day AshokaU Exchange, which is an international convening on social entrepreneurship in higher education. The symposium is free for UMD students, faculty and staff, but space is limited.

The day will feature a keynote presentation by Shira Shafir, Director of Social Innovation and Impact at TOMS Shoes. That will be followed by The “Afternoon Buzz” – a main stage feature fueled by caffeine and high-impact ideas.

UMD Provost Mary Ann Rankin will deliver some remarks to the crowd before attendees go on a Stamp Student Union “Green Choices” Sustainability Tour. People will then be able to take advantage of various breakout sessions and workgroups, including:

Afterward, aspiring social entrepreneurs will prepare for a student innovation showcase at the ‘Do Good Challenge’ semi-finals.
