Cass Business School Students Get A Taste For Middle East Business World

Cass Business School MBA students from London, led by Executive MBA Dubai Course Director Roy Batchelor, took a tour of leading companies throughout the UAE.

During the five-day tour, students met with leading UAE companies such as Mubadala Development Authority; Emirates National Oil Company; Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; Masdar Institute of Science and Technology; du; Emirates Airlines; JWT; and Nakheel. In addition to in-depth industry outlooks, the tour also allowed for interesting insights into local customs and culture. The delegation visited The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque, while also enjoying a desert safari and a trip up the iconic Burj Khalifa tower.

The delegation also attended a presentation at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) where prominent speakers such as Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, Chief Executive of the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, and representatives from DIFC Authority. There, Hawkamah discussed a range of financial topics including an overview of the DIFC, Dubai’s financial markets and financial services landscape, investment activity in the region, corporate governance, and an introduction and overview of Islamic banking.

Ehsan Razavizadeh, Regional Director, MENA and Head of the Dubai Centre said: “It was with our extreme pleasure to have hosted such a spectacular group of students here in the UAE. This tour provided our MBA students direct access to decision makers at the centre of one of the world’s most significant emerging economies, and provided fresh perspectives on the dynamics of doing business in the Middle East.”
