Smeal Welcomes Exec. VP of Dick’s Sporting Goods

The Penn State Smeal College of Business will welcome Executive Vice Prsedeint, COO/CFO of Dick’s Sporting Goods, André J. Hawaux to campus on April 10. Hawaii will speak as part of the Executive Insights program at Smeal. The event will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. at the Struthers Auditorium, Room 110 of the Business Building at the Penn State campus.

During the event, Hawaux will take part in a moderated discussion with Charles H. Whiteman, John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal. Those interested in attending the event can complete a registration form online.

The Executive Insights program at Smeal is designed to complement the Smeal educational experience by bringing high-profile business leaders to the college to connect with students, faculty, staff and administrators. Past guests have included more than 25 leaders from organizations such as Boeing, Dell, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, Siemens, Verizon, Urban Outfitters and PwC.

Dick’s Sporting Goods is a Fortune 500 corporation. The company operates more than 600 stores in 46 different states. The company is also a Smeal Corporate Associate, a program that offers organizations a variety of ways to tap into the resources of Smeal and Penn State more broadly.

Hawaux has been with the Dick’s company since 2013. He was originally hired as executive vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer in 2013. He was appointed to Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer in Feb. 2015. Hawaux holds responsibilities for Finance, Legal and Information Technology and Store Operations as well as Real Estate and Human Resources for the company.
