Honorary Doctorate Awarded to Scheller Marketing Professor

A Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business professor received an honorary doctoral degree from Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary.

Ajay Kohli, professor of marketing and the Gary T. and Elizabeth R. Jones Chair, has been with Scheller since 2008. In 2010 he visited Corvinus as the keynote speaker of their 40th anniversary of the university’s Institute of Marketing and Media. In the time since, Kohli has contributed time and resources to helping Corvinus internationalize the Institute as well as the Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Business Administration.

According to the Corvinus laudation, Kohli “has achieved with his outstanding research and publication performance an exceptional and unique reputation within the international marketing community.”

Kohli’s research has focused on a wide range of topics, including customer solutions, customer relationships, sales management, market signaling, market orientation, brand management and organizational buying.

Scheller News discusses Kohli’s accomplishments in more detail. “From 2008 and 2011, Kohli served as the editor-in-chief of the premier Journal of Marketing. He is among the 100 most-cited authors in the fields of Business and Economics combined in the last decade, and two of his articles are among the 10 most-cited Journal of Marketing articles of the last quarter of a century.”
