Saïd Students Compete in Paris

Saïd Business School released the results of their students’ participation in the annual MBA Tournament in a recent press release. 148 of Saïd Business School’s MBA students travelled to Paris to be a part of the athletic competition. The MBA Tournament is organized by MBA students at Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris (HEC Paris). The event takes place over three days on their campus in May each year. Over 1500 students from 15 of the world’s top business schools compete in the event, making it Europe’s largest annual gathering of MBA students. This year’s MBA Tournament marked the event’s 25th year in Paris.

The MBA Tournament offers participants a chance to compete in a wide variety of sports, 22 in all. Students may try to win it all in events ranging from salsa to poker to beach volleyball. Students from Saïd came in first in the cricket, pool, rowing, men’s cross country and table tennis events. They came in second in the ultimate frisbee and women’s cross country events. They won third in the battle of the bands, climbing, cross country team events, salsa and tennis competitions.

Laurent Nahmias-Leonard, a Saïd MBA student hailing from Canada, enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people while also working together to proudly represent Oxford. “It was an absolutely fantastic weekend and a wonderful opportunity to not only socialise with students from other schools, but more importantly, a chance to get to know other MBAs from Oxford that you hadn’t yet had a chance to get to know properly. It was wonderful to see all the Oxford students supporting each other’s events,” he said in a press release.
