Saxby Chambliss to Speak at Terry on July 16

The Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia will host Saxby Chambliss as the featured speaker at the July 16 Terry Third Thursday breakfast speaker series. Chambliss received a BBA from the University of Georgia in 1966. The talk will take place at the Terry Executive Education Center in Buckhead. Chambliss’ speech is titled “Leadership Lessons from Capitol Hill.”

Saxby Chambliss was first elected to Congress in 1994 as a representative of Georgia’s 8th District. Chambliss served in the United States Senate for two terms and in the United States House of Representatives for four terms.  He was named one of the most influential Georgians by Georgia Trend, who called him “a highly visible and well-respected presence in Washington.”

Chambliss was recognized several times by individuals in the public and private sectors for his legislative work on the budget, defense, agriculture, and national security issues. He served as a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry; the Armed Services Committee; and the Rules Committee during his time in the Senate. He earned an appointment to the Senate Committee on Intelligence, where he served as the vice chairman from 2011 to 2014.

Terry hosts Third Thursday every month as an event for the business community in Atlanta. The Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Bank of North Georgia, and WABE-FM sponsor the Terry Third Thursday breakfast speaker series. Registration is required for Chambliss’ speech, and tickets for the event cost $30. For directions and registration information, visit Terry’s website.
