UT Dallas Executive MBA

Dr. Kyle Edgington, a professor at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, has been named the new associate vice president for development at UT Dallas. In his new position, Dr. Edgington will be responsible for overseeing the major gift operations of the university.

“Kyle Edgington will lead a team that works to increase philanthropic support of UT Dallas, and furthers our goal to become one of the nation’s top public research universities,” said UT Dallas’ vice president for university advancement, Susan Rodgers. “His ability to work collaboratively and strategically will benefit our entire organization.

Before being promoted to the associate vice president for development position, Edgington served as a visiting clinical professor who taught management of nonprofit organizations and organizational behavior. He previously served as the president of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star Foundation. He also worked as a major gifts officer and later, the director of development, for the College of Engineering at Texas Tech University. During his time at Texas Tech, he designed and launched a $20 million campaign to fund the college’s department of petroleum engineering.

In 2011, Edgington helped UT Dallas secure the two largest alumni gifts in the history of the institution. His work helped the School of Management join the ranks of named business schools in the United States. As an assistant dean of the School of Management, he worked with alumni Naveen Jindal (MBA ’92), Chuck Davidson (MS’ 80), and Nancy Davidson (BS ’80), to help organize their combined gift of $30 million to name the Naveen Jindal School of Management.

“This is an exciting time to be joining the development team,” said Edgington. “We’ll continue the momentum from the Realize the Vision campaign, and continue our progress to becoming a Tier One research university. I look forward to collaborating with our talented team of developmet professionals, and building strong partnerships with alumni, corporations and foundations and individual donors.”
