Coles College Namesake Michael J. Coles Elected Board Chairman of Brand Group Holdings

Michael J. Coles, the namesake of Kennesaw State University’s College of Business, was recently elected chairman of the board of directors for Brand Group Holdings.

Prior to his election as chairman, Coles served on the Brand Group Holdings board since 2011, and served as the former Chairman of Charter Bank & Trust. His impressive resume includes positions as executive chairman and president of the Atlanta-based company Global Onboard Partners, CEO of Minneapolis-based Caribou Coffee Co., and co-Founder and chairman of the Great American Cookie Co., based in Norcross.

According to Brand Group Holdings, Coles has also served as a board member for several non-profit organizations, including the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. He was furthermore appointed by the Governor of Georgia to serve as chairman for the Georgia Film and Video Advisory Commission. In 1998, Coles won the nomination to run for office in the congressional 6th District for U.S. Senate.

Brand Group Holdings serves as the holding company for BrandBank, totaling assets of $2 billion.
