Babson SF to Host Pilot Summer Venture Program

San Francisco

This spring, the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College (Babson San Francisco) will offer a pilot version of its popular Summer Venture Program (SVP) on the college’s San Francisco campus.

The SVP provides a venue for students from Babson, Wellesley, and the Olin College of Engineering to present their ideas to both potential investors and members of the surrounding tech and business community.

Located in the SoMa district, the locus of the city’s startup scene, Babson San Francisco is an ideal place for attendees to gain exposure to the ideas and networks that will drive both their present and future ventures.

The program provides accepted students with workspaces, advisors, and housing, in addition to attendance at numerous events with industry leaders.

Debi Kleiman, Executive Director of Babson’s Arthur M. Blank Entrepreneurship Center, said of the SVP:

“[The San Francisco program] will provide our students with access to the wealth of resources in Silicon Valley and expand the powerful SVP network… We are thrilled to partner with the SF Campus team to bring more Babson entrepreneurship programming to the Bay Area.”

Taking place over ten weeks, the San Francisco events will coincide with those of the SVP on the east coast campus. Students will put technology to use in order to collaborate with their peers across the country, informing their current projects while strengthening their future professional connections.

Beginning in mid-May (official date is TBA), the Summer Venture Program culminates with a Venture Showcase in early August. During this event, student entrepreneurs will share their ideas to a diverse audience of students, business leaders, and potential investors.
