Traveling to SPU Just Got Easier

New metro routes will soon serve Seattle Pacific University. For MBAs who don’t have a car, or prefer to take public transportation, getting to and from Seattle Pacific University is about to get a lot easier. Seattle Metro will be extending its routes 3 and 4 to improve connections and the frequency of service to downtown Seattle, Queen Anne, and Seattle Pacific University.

These updates will have a large impact on SPU commuters. Now, students looking to head to and from downtown Seattle from campus can enjoy two to six trips per hour. Offering plenty of flexibility for all class schedules. Riders will have a choice between three different routes: 3, 4, and 13. As for making connections, riders looking to connect between Queen Anne and the University District can also expect shorter wait times between buses. To make sure the routes work for you, take a look at the map.

However, the new routes aren’t the only changes to Seattle’s Metro service. The change is also great for bus operators, who will now have access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to restrooms. The final Metro update includes new neighborhood “loops” on the 3 and 4 route, to respond to concerns from residents about idling buses.

The updates will be especially enjoyable for those who are tired of Seattle’s traffic issues. Several studies have rated the city’s traffic congestion as among the worst in the country, matching Los Angeles and New York. When the average American spends 30-minutes in a car each day, having new Metro routes can be a big help.

For MBAs looking to try the Metro to shorten their commute, the university offers a Metro FlexPass, which is good anywhere Metro and Sound Transit travel, in any zone at any time of day.
