Terry College Graduates Employed at Record High Rates

The University of Georgia – Terry College of Business has achieved a record high placement rate for post-graduate employment this year, according to a survey of Class of 2016 graduates.

The survey indicates that 91 percent of Terry undergraduates and 93 percent of MBAs had secured employment within just three months of graduation. According to Terry College Dean Benjamin C. Ayers, this is the highest recorded employment rate for both BBA and full-time MBA graduates. For some master’s and bachelor’s degree programs, the employment rate reached 100 percent.

“That is a tremendous assurance of our program quality and a real testament to the abilities of our faculty, advisors and support staff who work so hard to help our students achieve their educational and career goals. I could not be more proud of what these milestones represent for our students,” commented Ayers.

Not only was the employment rate of Terry graduates impressive, but so too were the employers hiring them. Students accepting job offers this year included some of the top name companies in business, such as: AT&T, the Coca-Cola Co., Ernst & Young, Fiserv, KPMG and PwC, among others.

The surveys, which are conducted annually by the Terry College MBA Career Management Center and the Office of Undergraduate Student Services and Corporate Relations, collected data this summer.

Shannon Caldwell, director of the MBA Career Management Center, commented on what the record high employment rates says about the Terry student body: “The students are focused on having an impact. We help them identify the ways that their skills can make a difference in the marketplace and connect them with the organizations who need those skills.”
