The World Affairs Council of Atlanta Young Leaders, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Georgia State University – J. Mack Robinson College of Business and World Affairs Councils of America, will host the ninth annual “Agricultural Solutions for Tomorrow: Biotechnology, Agribusiness and Climate Smart Agriculture” conference this February.
The conference will take place on Saturday, February 25 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The event will focus on new challenges and opportunities within the field of global agriculture, particularly the way new innovations—such as seed development or international commodity markets- are transforming the crops are being grown and consumed. The conference will address such issues as the thin line between food security and adapting to climate change, ethics of agricultural development, financing and commodity prices and the business of agriculture.
The event will feature a number of professional speakers, spanning across the fields of agriculture, education, business and government. Such speakers will be featured as: Alec Asbridge, Director of Regulatory Compliance and Budget at the Georgia Department of Agriculture; Mario Cambardella, Director of Urban Agriculture for the City of Atlanta; Roderick Gilbert, Senior Agribusiness Manager at the Center of Innovation for Agribusiness at the Georgia Department of Economic Development; Samuel Pardue, Dean of UGA’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences; and Matt Rushing, Vice President of Product Management and Technology Solutions at the AGCO Corporation, among others.
Members of the World Affairs Council can register for the conference for just $30, while the cost is $50 for non-members.
