Each year, the British Council Study UK Alumni Awards recognizes the outstanding achievements of alumni from UK universities. The goal being to showcase the impact of higher education in the UK and to celebrate leaders in their fields who have used their experience of studying in the UK to make a positive impact on their community, profession and country. For the 2017 award season, Dr. Terence Yeo, a ’01 Cambridge University Judge School of Business MBA graduate, was awarded the Entrepreneurial Achievement Award.

The Entrepreneurial Achievement Award is given to an individual who has achieved exceptional success and who has:

Dr. Yeo, a serial entrepreneur, was chosen as the award recipient for many reasons. In 2003, he founded Fusion Optix, a specialized LED lighting and optical technology firm with the goal of improving efficiency in the use, generation, or conversion of light and optical energy. Beyond Fusion Optix, Dr. Yeo has also been involved in the creation of several startups and has supported a few leading VC firms including Amadeus Capital, Quester and Milcom.

To take home the Entrepreneurial Achievement Award, Dr. Yeo was someone who was “active in initiating, or contributing to, innovative new business opportunities with strong growth prospects,” explained a press release. The award ceremony will take place in New York City on July 2017, for all US award winners.
