Hofstra Named in Military Friendly School List

Hofstra University has been named to the 2015 Military Friendly School List. This list includes the top 15 percent of colleges and universities that do the most to embrace members of the military, veterans and their spouses. This is the second consecutive year Hofstra has made the list.

The 2015 list of Military Friendly Schools ®, was compiled by Victory Media Inc. The list is created from a data-driven survey of more than 8,000 schools nationwide that have been approved for post-9/11 GI Bill funding. The survey scores institutions in several categories, including military support on campus, veteran graduation rates, program flexibility for military students and military spouse policies.

Victory Media is a service-disabled, veteran-owned business that has played a pivotal role in helping educators and employers attract high-quality students and employees, comply with regulations and develop leading practices in military programs. The company has developed and owns the Military Friendly® brand and intellectual property and the new Military Friendly® Membership program, which was developed in response to inquiries from clients seeking ways to better serve today’s military community

Developed through more than a decade of proprietary research, Victory Media’s Military Friendly® ratings and resources provide service members the transparent, accurate information they need to make decisions about post-military opportunities. The survey results that comprise the 2015 list were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.

Earlier this month, U.S News & World Report recognized Hofstra #36 on its list of Best Colleges for Veterans.
