The Economist has ranked UC Davis Graduate School of Management in the top of several categories. Overall, The Economist places UC Davis among the top 8 percent of accredited MBA programs in the U.S. UC Davis is No. 39 in the U.S. and No. 68 globally.
The Graduate School of Management’s faculty quality was ranked no. 15 globally. It was ranked no. 23 globally for the percentage of graduates who received a job offer within three months of graduation, no. 32 globally for graduates’ percentage increase on pre-MBA salary and no. 35 globally for student quality.
The Economist ranks schools based on information that it solicits from more than 140 business schools and students/alumni and then measures and weights the data to calculate the overall rankings. The rankings are based on various components’ importance among business students and alumni who graduated within the last three years.
Data for the rankings was collected during the spring of 2014, based on two surveys. The first survey covered quantitative matters such as the salary of graduates, the average GMAT scores of students and the number of registered alumni. This accounts for around 80 percent of the ranking. The remaining 20 percent comes from the second survey, which is a qualitative survey filled out by current MBA students and a school’s most recent graduating MBA class.
Memory has been built into the rankings by taking a weighted average of 2014 (50 percent), 2013 (30 percent) and 2012 (20 percent) data to provide a rounded picture of the school.
