Villanova Gives Highest Alumni Award

The Villanova School of Business has named Richard J. Naclerio ’54 as the 2014 recipient of The Rev. Joseph C. Bartley, OSA Alumni Medallion. The Bartley Medallion is given annually to recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers while also demonstrating extraordinary service to their communities and to VSB. This is the highest distinction the school can bestow to an alumnus.

Throughout his career, Naclerio has proven to be successful as a developer, investor and entrepreneur. He served as CEO and president of Naclerio Contracting Corporation, which served the Greater New York region and provided infrastructure for municipalities.

Under his leadership, the company progressed to higher levels of success. Naclerio later started RAN Consulting Corporation, a mortgage brokerage firm and led the company as CEO and president.

At Villanova, Naclerio has remained actively involved through his memberships in the Matthew Carr Society and the 1842 Heritage Society. He created the Richard and Barbara Naclerio Faculty Scholars Program, which encourages and supports VSB faculty members in the productive pursuit of high-level research.

He also endowed Villanova University with the Richard J. Naclerio ’54 and Barbara A. Naclerio Chair in Transatlantic Commerce and Finance. In addition, Naclerio served on the VSB Dean’s Advisory Council.

The Bartley Alumni Medallion was presented to Naclerio in the company of VSB’s most supportive business leaders, who are also engaged in advisory councils across the school, at the Villanova Business Leaders Forum, which took place on October 1 and 2, 2014.

This year’s Forum, Innovating for Global Success, showcased innovative business models and methods across a range of sectors and organizations and shared how Villanova encourages innovation to advance its educational mission.
