Food Depository CEO Kate Maehr Named Speaker at Kellstadt Commencement

According to a press release on the school website, DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business has announced that Kate Maehr, CEO of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, will address graduates and receive an honorary degree at the Driehaus College of Business Commencement on June 14.

Since becoming CEO of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, one of the nation’s largest food banks, in 2006, Maehr has helped increase the nonprofit’s fundraising and improved operations to increase the distribution of food: the organization has increased the annual distribution of food by 65 percent to 66 million pounds of nutritious food, which helps to ease the hunger of more than 812,100 people each year. Maehr has had her hands in developing programs, such as food-service job training, that seek to break the cycle of poverty.

Graduate business students from the Class of 2015 will receive their diplomas at the ceremony at 4:30PM at the Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Ill. Here is the complete itinerary:

Seating for guests is open and available on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets are required. For more information, visit the 2015 DePaul University Commencement website.
