Two Boston metro schools made the list of the 2016 Best Executive MBA Programs recently released by the careers site Ivy Exec.
MIT Sloan School of Management was No. 5 in the rankings with its 20-month EMBA program, and Boston University’s Questrom School of Business came in at No. 17 with its 18-month Executive MBA.
Executive MBA programs are tailored to experienced leaders who want to continue their careers while pursuing the degree, and the students in both of these Boston area programs boast extensive resumes. The Sloan EMBA Class of 2016 has 120 students who have an average of 17 years of work experience. The Questrom EMBA program has an average class size of around 35. Students have an average of 15 years of work experience.
The rankings are based on a survey in which Ivy Exec members voted on Executive MBA programs worldwide. The schools were scored based on reputation, career advancement, curriculum, life balance and globalness. The No. 1 Executive MBA program in the Ivy Exec ranking was The Wharton School — University of Pennsylvania.
Ivy Exec’s partner schools are Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, Kellogg School of Management-Northwestern University, Columbia Business School and Saïd Business School – University Of Oxford.
