Marketing and Business Analytics Students at Commerce Connect with Potential Employers at Hiring Expo

Students in the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization at Texas A&M University- Commerce College of Business recently attended the Tech Titan Hiring Expo in Richardson, Texas.

The expo gave students the opportunity to meet and network with a number of potential employers in the Dallas/Forth Worth area. Such companies as Argo, P3 Consulting and Bank of America among others were present at the Tech Titan expo, giving students the chance to connect with these recruiters.

Dolly Yadav, a first-year student in the Master of Science in Business Analytics Program, mentioned her positive experience at the expo, in which a leading executive recognized the excellence of students at Texas A&M-Commerce and lauded the university’s high standards. “I had a personal experience with the managing director of Coalfire. As soon as I extended my hand to greet him, he realized that I was a student attending Texas A&M University-Commerce. He said that he was very impressed by the standards that we carry and the way we approach others,” she said.

Not only did the event give students the chance to network with recruiters, it also helped them learn more about what employers are seeking in students entering the job market. “It was a great experience talking to many of the exhibitors. It gave me an idea of what skills I need to start learning before I graduate,” said Jose Ballesteros, also a first-year student in the Master of Science in Business Analytics Program. “Our presence as students also showed that we are trying to plan ahead and stay up to date on what is needed in the industry.”
