The Top 10 Business Schools Where MBAs Leave With A Job

Job

U.S. News & World Report has just unveiled its findings on the best business schools in the country for MBAs to earn a job upon graduation.

In a survey of 129 business schools across the U.S., reporter Farran Powell reveals that 63 percent of MBA graduates left their schools with a job already in hand in 2015. The number one school, however, may have caught most off-guard.

Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge’s E.J. Ourso College of Business earned top-billing, with 90.5 percent of students leaving the school in 2015 with a job. Within three months, that portion rose to 97.6 percent. Ourso was followed by several more familiar names, like the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, the Howard University School of Business, Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business and the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, rounding out the top five.

Ourso’s spot on the list is especially surprising when you consider the fact that much of the top 10 was made up of school’s U.S. News declared were among the 15 best business schools in the country. On that list, Ourso came in at 62nd overall. Although it should be noted that the typical Ourso full-time MBA class is significantly smaller (96 students are currently enrolled) than those at the higher-ranked business schools, so the percentages could be potentially misleading.

The remaining spots on the list were filled by the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Sloan School of Management at MIT, the Eli Broad School of Management at Michigan State and the Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
