Terry College Dean Looks Towards Future of UGA Business

UGA Terry Dean

A recent message from Dean Benjamin Ayers to the University of Georgia – Terry College of Business community highlighted the many student accomplishments this year and offers a look at what’s to come.

In his message, Terry College Dean Benjamin Ayers acknowledges the many academic achievements made by students in the past year, such as the naming of the school’s third Rhodes Scholar in under ten years. He also mentions the many contest victories in the past year, particularly in case competitions involving students in the MBA and MAcc programs.

Ayers also remarks upon the tremendous project of providing a new home for the Terry College of Business, which has long been in the works. “With two of the three phases of construction now complete, we have reached the tipping point where the Business Learning Community at the corner of Lumpkin and Baxter streets truly is the new home of the Terry College of Business,” he says in his message. Over the summer, faculty and administration will settle into their new offices, with classes beginning this fall in the Business Learning Community.

In looking towards the future, Ayers announces the launch of the UGA Advantage, also known as Double Dawgs. Through this program, already known to students who have completed the five-year BBA/MAcc through the Tull School of Accounting, many more students will have the opportunity to earn a dual degree. Through the UGA Advantage, Terry will be able to provide more interdisciplinary dual degree programs that may even be between two different colleges. Already in the works is a five-year BS/MBA program through the College of Engineering, and a dual degree in economics (AB/MA or BBA/MA).
