24th Annual Kogod Case Competition Taking Place This Weekend

Kogod School of Business - American University

The Kogod Case Competition, one of the premier annual events hosted by the Kogod School of Business each spring semester, pits student teams against one another as they compete to impress judges with their business acumen. The 24th Annual Competition will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2016. What’s in it for the winners? Each winning team member is awarded a cash prize of $200.

The Case Competition is open to all graduate and undergraduate students at AU and is an opportunity for students to sharpen their communication skills, presentation style and problem-solving techniques. Teams have only three and a half days to read, assess and devise their arguments, before presenting to a panel of judges.

“The most valuable thing for students to keep in mind is that how well they present their recommendations to judges is just as important as the content they are presenting,” Andrew Toczydlowski, Associate Director of Graduate Programming and Student Activities, said in an article on the Kogod website. “Judges value a team who comes prepared not just with knowledge but polish to their presentation, too.”

Competitors are not only benefiting from the real-life experience they’ll receive by taking part in the event, they also get some prime networking time with more than 60 Kogod alumni and local business leaders who are judging the competition.
