JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon Speaks At Loyola Maryland

Jamie Dimon

MBA and Master of Science in Finance students from Loyola University Maryland recently had the opportunity to attend and take part in a town hall meeting with JPMorgan Chase CEO, president and chairman Jamie Dimon. The town hall took place in Washington D.C. at the Chamber of Commerce.According to a press release from the school, around 150 students from business schools across region attended, including Loyola students Jessie Austin, Elizabeth Colgan, Joseph Czochanski, Tim Dill, Todd Dunda, Sumit Joshi, Arjun Sutha, Joshua Tarini and Ronnie Wooten.

Dimon’s address revolved around the release of JPMorgan Chase’s annual report letter, as Dimon engaged the audience and expanded upon the letter’s themes, such as the roles that businesses such as JPMorgan Chase play in addressing social and economic challenges, the firm’s business growth, responsible regulatory reform, and how public policy creates inclusive economic growth and opportunity.

Loyola’s delegation of MBAs and Masters students responded positively to the town hall, including Todd Dunda, VP of finance at Marriott and current Executive MBA student, felt the town hall illustrated many of the management themes studied in the program.

“I really enjoyed the message from Mr. Dimon in that he referenced a number of items that we discussed in Professor Tony Mento’s management class, particularly the importance of a strong company culture, leadership, and a focus on continuous learning to improve the business and employee growth,” said Dunda.

Dimon’s name has been increasingly circulating in the political sphere in recent years. After being rumored as a potential advisor for the Trump administration following last November’s general election, Dimon has been on the forefront of several meetings with the POTUS. Last month, Dimon and a group of fellow CEO’s met with Trump to discuss further dismantling banking regulations, something Dimon has been a vocal critic of.
