It has been a while since this column checked to see what opportunities are available for MBA students in the Big Apple. A global center of finance and culture, New York City offers many opportunities for ambitious MBAs. This week’s dispatch only covers jobs that have been posted within the last week.

Senior Associate — Aon

Aon is a leading professional services firm that provides various risk, retirement, and health solutions. With over 50,000 employees spread across 120 countries, Aon provides its clients with data- and analysis-driven insights that reduce volatility and improve performance.

Aon is looking for a Senior Associate to work from the firm’s New York office. The person hired to this position will be joining Aon Inpoint, which provides clients in the global property, casualty, and health markets with advisory services and strategic implementation support. He or she will lead account and project teams to help clients in the aforementioned markets grow and improve their operating performance. Candidates for this position should have at least three to four years of relevant prior experience, and an MBA is considered ideal by Aon.

Manager of 5G Strategy — Verizon

A remnant of the old Bell telephone system, Verizon is one of the largest telecommunications providers in the country. Its subsidiary, Verizon Wireless, provides service to 153.1 million people, and its cable and telephone service is ubiquitous throughout the mid-Atlantic and northeastern United States.

NYC average salaries continue to hover over the national average, with 15.1 percent average wage growth since 2006.

Verizon is looking for a Manager of 5G Strategy to work out of the company’s New York headquarters. The person hired to this position will be responsible for helping the company rollout out the strategy for the new phase of wireless internet service: 5G. He or she will work to solve key business challenges as well as design and execute new solutions. Candidates for this position should have at least four years of prior experience, with a preference being shown for those who have done consulting and strategy work with a focus on emerging technology or telecommunications. Ideal candidates will have an MBA.

Manager – Performance Improvement – Wealth Management — EY

EY, or Ernst & Young, is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction, and advisory services. Consider one of the Big Four accounting services, the company employs more than 270,000 employees in over 700 offices in 150 countries.

EY is looking for a Manager to work from its New York office. The person hired for this position will work within EY’s business unit dedicated to the financial services marketplace. He or she will be working to help EY’s clients better align their operating infrastructures with their strategies. This position will focus on wealth management clients, which include retail brokers, private bankers, wealth managers, retirement specialists, and trust organizations. Candidates for this position should have at least four years of prior relevant experience, with much of that being in either the financial services or professional services field. At the aforementioned level of experience, an MBA is required.

Business Lead Analyst, CBNA — Citi

Citigroup is one of the major four banks in the United States, one of the banks that is considered too big to fail. The company currently has more than 200 million clients and does business in more than 160 countries.

Citi is looking for a Business Lead Analyst to work from its New York headquarters. The person hired to this position will be working for Citibank, N.A., a subsidiary of Citigroup. He or she will join the CBNA Governance Team, supporting members of the firm’s C-suite. This person will manage multiple CBNA projects as well as drive the research and analytical work behind large-scale projects and regulatory projects among other work. Candidates for this position should have between four and seven years of previous relevant experience, and an MBA is preferred.
