Stanford Ignite NYC to Return to Midtown Manhattan in Spring 2016

Jonathan Levav

In the spring of 2016, Stanford Graduate School of Business will offer the second session of its NYC-based flagship program, Stanford Ignite, in midtown Manhattan.

Stanford Ignite gathers professionals who seek to hone their entrepreneurial skills. Participants may already be in the midst of launching businesses, or they may be considering similar objectives. It is open to graduate students in pursuit of Ph.Ds, MDs and working professionals with bachelor’s or advanced degrees. A certificate program, Stanford Ignite also offers the program internationally, in Bangalore, London, Beijing, Sao Paolo, and Santiago.

In a press release, Stanford Ignite faculty director and the GSB’s Banc One Professor of Economics Yossi Feinberg said, “Our goal is to bring Stanford Ignite to the world’s top centers of innovation and entrepreneurship… New York is a hotbed of innovation where entrepreneurs are upending established business models in fashion, retail, health care, finance, media, and food. Stanford Ignite-NYC enables us to reach new audiences and bring the Stanford GSB experience and culture of innovation to these exciting industries.”

The program boasts that more than 100 companies have been launched by participants since its inception.

After completing Stanford Ignite NYC, cohort Jenny Park Adam launched ARTDEX, an online hub for art collectors who seek to share information and expand their social and professional networks. Adam said in a press release, ”The program … offered me an invaluable business network, from which I hope to draw upon in the coming months ahead as I move forward with realizing my ultimate goal: to innovate and transform the global art world by merging together art and technology on a scale unprecedented.”

The application deadline for Stanford Ignite NYC is December 1, 2015.
