Fox Maintains AACSB Accreditation

The Fox School of Business has been reaccredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB accreditation is considered the hallmark of excellence in business education. Less than five percent of business programs are accredited by AACSB. Accredited institutions must undergo a reaccreditation review every five years. The Fox School has been accredited by AACSB International since 1934.

AACSB International was founded in 1916. It is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees in business and accounting. To be considered as an AACSB International member institution, schools must offer undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in business. Schools may voluntarily apply for AACSB Business Accreditation.

The AACSB Accreditation Process includes a rigorous self-evaluation and a peer-review. The process begins with the submission and approval of an Eligibility Application. Once a school’s Eligibility Application has been approved, it will enter the PreAccreditation phase. If a school is able to meet all of the accreditation standards and completes the PreAccreditation requirements, it will be recommended for Initial Accreditation.

The five year review process includes updates on how school addresses diversity and encourages ethical behavior, progress addressing concerns stated in the last AACSB, review and updates on major changes in financial resources, facilities, other infrastructure and a list of degree programs offered.

During the Fox School’s review, the AACSB Review Team commented on the intellectual contributions and research-active faculty at the school. The review also specifically pointed out the Center for Student Professional Development, stating that it provides students “with the tools and knowledge necessary to set themselves apart from the competition.” The review also specifically commented on the success of the Online MBA, ranked no. 1 in the world, and the new Global MBA curriculum.
