The ranking takes into account certain key performance indicators that are considered to important and valuable to prospective MBAs. Among these indicators are international diversity, class sizes, student work experience, faculty-to-student ratios, and academic and professional qualifications. The Full-time MBA Program at McDonough School of Business centers on the success of students. The school offers a unique and integrative core curriculum that helps prepare students for internships, jobs, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Through their classes and work experiences, students learn the analytical and persuasive skills needed to succeed in ethical business standards.

IGF issues these rankings each winter due to the increasing competition between business schools. Those who vote on rankings feel that it is important for schools to understand what students really want. Schools ranked highly by the IGF in CEO Magazine have proven to be successful in this goal.
