UCLA Anderson School of Management‘s Laurence and Lori Fink Center for Finance & Investments hosted the 3rd Annual Fink Center Stock Pitch Competition on Feb. 28, 2014.

Considered one of the premier MBA events in the investment management community, the competition brings students from leading MBA schools who are interested in careers in investment research and asset management to California to show a panel of industry judges what they are made of.Teams were judged on the quality of their analysis, the strength of their investment thesis, presentation skills and responsiveness to inquiries. Professionals from top finance firms will serve as judges, including HighMark Capital, PIMCO, DoubleLine, Capital Group, Hotchkis & Wiley and TCW.

“This event provides a golden opportunity for students of different business schools to get together and analyze companies,” says Ivo Welch, the J. Fred Weston Professor of Finance at UCLA Anderson and director of the Fink Center.

Rob Arnott, chairman and chief executive officer of Research Affiliates, served as the event’s keynote. During his 30-year career, Arnott has earned a reputation as one of the world’s most proactive practitioners and a respected financial analyst in his endeavors to bridge the worlds of academics theorists and financial markets.

In addition to giving students a preview of Wall Street’s decision-making process, the event brings students within reach of the top investment management shops in the world, such as DoubleLine, PIMCO, Research Affiliates and TCW.
