McDonough Global Career Conference and Expo Allows to Students to Connect With International Executives
The fourth annual Global Career Conference and Expo (GCCE) at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business did its part to help top MBA employers from around the world connect with graduating students eager to work abroad and across cultures. Hosted by the McDonough School of Business and Barcelona’s ESADE Business School, this year’s expo attracted students from 27 top business schools from around the country as well as representatives from 20 multi-national corporations.
One student was Carlos Martinez, MBA ’16. For Martinez, the GCCE also was one of the deciding factors when accepting his offer to enroll at Georgetown.
“As someone who is interested in having an international career, the conference was the perfect opportunity to speak with representatives from companies that recruit specifically for job opportunities abroad or for job opportunities with some type of international focus,” he said.
The conference was created in response to international student requests for greater visibility in the job and internship search process. In addition to the expo, many organizations conducted on-site interviews and information sessions.
The companies represented at the career fair included: Abengoa, Asian Development Bank, BizCorps, Delta Holding, Devex, The Enrichment Centers, General Electric, Global Health Corps, Intrax Global Internships, Landmark Development Initiative (LDI) Africa, MBAs Without Borders, MorganFranklin Consulting, The Nature Conservancy, Peace Corps, Primerica Financial Services, Tourico Holidays, USAID, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Small Business Administration, and The World Bank Group.
