McDonough’s MBA Employment Report Reflects Increase in Job Offers
MBA Career Center at the McDonough School of Business released its 2014 MBA Employment Report. This year’s annual report shows encouraging figures that show increases in employer engagement, compensation and the impact of the school’s career services on students.
“The data and testimonials in this report reflect the ability of our MBAs to strategically leverage their career development resources, including the MBA Career Center’s programs and services,” said Doreen Amorosa, associate dean and managing director of the MBA Career Center. “We are proud that the entire MBA process, including our new curriculum and our enhanced career services, are preparing our students for success after graduation.”
Here are the key statistics reflected in the report:
Full-time job reporting for the Class of 2014:
- An average base salary of $102,096
- An average signing bonus of $23,688
- 91 percent of students received full-time job offers within three months of graduation
- 71 percent of students received a signing bonus (an 8 percent increase from 2013)
- Nearly 70 percent of the Class of 2014 credited Georgetown McDonough with helping them to achieve their employment goals (a 10 percent increase from 2013 and a 23 percent increase from 2010)
- Since 2011, 538 Georgetown MBAs have been hired by 60 of the 100 Most Desirable MBA Employers.
Internship reporting for the Class of 2015:
- An average cash compensation of $6,010 per month
- 99 percent of internship seekers acquired one
- 89 percent of internships were for pay (a 6 percent increase from 2013)
- 65 percent of the Class of 2015 credited Georgetown McDonough with helping them to achieve their employment goals
Employer engagement during the past academic year:
- More than 1,200 on-campus interviews took place (a 14 percent increase from 2013)
- Over 6,400 coaching appointments were recorded
- Nearly 2,000 job postings were presented to students
- 98 employers came to campus during the academic year; of those, 17 visited for the first time
