REGISTER: Discover Kogod on January 31

The Kogod School of Business admissions department will be holding a “Discover Kogod” session on January 31 from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM. The information session is for any prospective MBA looking to learn more about graduate business education at the Kogod School of Business and will include an Admissions Overview along with Academic Overviews of the Full-time and Professional (Part-time) MBA programs. Throughout the day, Kogod faculty, graduate admissions representatives, and current students will be available to speak about the programs and answer any questions. Last, and to some hungry prospective MBAs not least, lunch will be served.

The two-year MBA program at Kogod offers primarily daytime and evening classes. Kogod offers one intake per year, and classes begin during the fall semester. During the summer between the first and second years of the program, students are offered the choice between internships, international travel, or additional coursework opportunities.

Throughout the Full-time MBA program, courses feature projects for clients in Washington, D.C. and beyond. Students have the opportunity to participate in client-driven team exercise, and participate in an international consulting project and trip. The international consulting project trip allows students to work on a real-life consulting project alongside international students at a partner institution, and travel to the foreign country as part of the project experience.

MBA students can explore electives with a specialized consulting focus in areas such as strategy, IT, human capital, and finance. Or, they may choose electives in 8 other academic concentrations, including: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, sustainability management, marketing, real estate, or finance.

Meanwhile, Kogod’s Part-Time, Professional MBA program is designed for the working student. The cohort-based program allows students to take one class at a time, one night a week, and earn their MBA in 27 months.

The Professional MBA is a 48-credit hour program that follows a cohort structure. The student body is broken down into small groups to hone students’ team problem-solving skills and help optimize learning. At the start of each spring semester, students engage with their cohort in a weekend residency to develop their professional skills.

Along with the core curriculum, students must complete a mandatory Global Residency, a week-long study abroad trip taken during their second year. The trip combines on campus coursework with international travel, and includes meetings with business executives and experts.
