Bauer Students Learn How to Make an Impact in Today’s Business World

Students at University of Houston C.T. Bauer College of Business will soon have a chance to hear the president and CEO of TIAA-CREF speak.

On April 20 at 1:30 pm in the Insperity Center Roger Ferguson, President and CEO of TIAA-CREF will host his discussion on “Career Success: Making an Impact in a Challenging World.”

The presentation will be informed by Ferguson’s success throughout his career which has taken him through business, public service, consulting and law. He will also offer advice on how students can take steps to prepare themselves to make an impact in today’s business world.

TIAA-CREF is the leading provider of retirement services in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields. It is a fortune 100 financial services organization. In the past, Ferguson was the vice chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System. As the only Governor in Washington D.C. on September 11, 2001, Ferguson led the Fed’s initial response to the attacks.

Ferguson received his B.A., J.D. and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. He is a board member of The Conference Board, the American Council of Life Insurers, the Institute for Advanced Study and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He also serves on the board of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. and the advisory board of Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP.
