Smith School Professor Up for Thinkers50 List

It may not be election season yet, but one professor at the Robert H. Smith School of Business is looking for his network to rock the vote. Anil Gupta, Michael D. Dingman Chair in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Smith School is nominated for Thinkers50, a list of the world’s 50 most influential living management thinkers. When it was launched in 2001, the Thinkers50 was the first-ever global ranking of management thinkers and has been published every two years since.

Gupta has a track record of excellence at Smith. In 1998 he became a second-time winner of the Allen J. Krowe Award for Excellence in Teaching at Smith. Also that year, he was rated as the #1 most popular professor in a Business Week magazine survey of MBA students at Smith. In 2004 Gupta was listed among the 243 most highly cited scholars in the entire field of economics and business covering macro- and micro-economics, finance, marketing, and strategy by ISIhighlycited.com. In July 2010, he was elected life-time Fellow, Strategic Management Society and received the “Best Professor in Strategy” Award from CMO Asia (an association of chief marketing officers).
