Attention members of the Robert H. Smith School of Business community and the Washington DC/Baltimore Metro areas: The fourth annual Smith School Business Summit will be held on November 13, 2015, at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards. This year’s theme is “Workplace 2025: Emerging Trends That Will Redefine Modern Business in the Next Decade.”

“The summit was designed to allow our Smith School students, faculty and alumni to learn about and share key trends, innovations and challenges,” says Jeff Kudisch, assistant dean of corporate relations and managing director of Smith’s Office of Career Services.

What can you expect at the event? More than 700 alumni, students, faculty and regional business professionals will be able to select from a series of panels moderated by Smith School faculty members on the following topics: business analytics, energy, finance, women in leadership, social value creation, innovation, leading with a global mindset, entrepreneurship, healthcare, sustainability and supply chain, and technology.

Calvin G. Butler Jr., the chief executive officer of Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), will address the crowd as the event’s keynote speaker. According to his bio, Butler previously served as BGE’s senior vice president, regulatory and external affairs. Before joining Exelon (BGE’s parent company) in 2008, Butler held leadership positions for eight years with the print, digital and supply chain solutions company RR Donnelley. Butler earned a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Mo.

The Business Summit will conclude with a networking reception, is free and is open to the general public. Space is limited, and you can register for the event here.
