The U.S. News and World Report has recently released the 2016 Best Online Programs Ranking, including online MBA programs as well as business, computer information, education, engineering and nursing, among others.

Texas schools made an impactful showing across the board, frequently arriving among the top ten for online programs. For the second year in a row, the University of Houston took the top spot in the report’s list of top graduate programs in education, tying with Florida State University. Other Texas schools such as the Sam Houston State University, University of Texas at Arlington and the Texas A&M University at College Station earned spots in the top 50 for education.

The University of Texas at Dallas came in at number four for the best online graduate business programs, and number nine for the best online MBA program. Additionally, the University of North Texas came in at No. 15 for the best MBA programs.

In September, the U.S. News and World Report released their 2016 Best Colleges ranking for traditional college programs, in which six Texas schools were ranked within the top 100. In the September ranking, Rice University came in at No. 18, tied with the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Additionally, the University of Houston was ranked among the top schools for graduating without debt, No. 187 in the country.

Houston schools have consistently made a showing among top college rankings. Houston itself was named by WalletHub as one of the best cities for college students.
